Pi Network CEO Unveils Two-Phase Mainnet Roadmap

Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis’ Roadmap Announcement

Pi Network CEO, Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis, announced the highly anticipated two-phase mainnet roadmap. According to Pi News Media, the first version (v1) will be released in mid-October, followed by the second version (v2) in the fourth quarter (Q4). The announcement, made on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), created confusion and raised questions among users.

Community Reactions and Concerns

User Confusion Over Timing

Dr. Kokkalis’ announcement sparked mixed reactions from the Pi Network community. Users expressed their concerns in the comments on Pi News Media’s post. One user, Gideon 6ix, questioned the timing, asking, “Isn’t mid-October already in Q4?” Another user noted that the CEO did not specify the year for the release of version 2.

Speculation on Roadmap v2

Danilo Cortez Jr., another Pi Network user, speculated that Roadmap v2 might coincide with Pi Day in 2024. He suggested that “Mid-October falls within the fourth quarter of the calendar year. Unless @nkokkalis was referring to the fourth quarter of the fiscal year, it suggests that the unveiling of V2 will likely happen between January and March 2024, possibly coinciding with Pi Day.”

Criticism of Announcement Platform

Some users criticized the CEO’s decision to announce the roadmap on Discord rather than the official Pi Network app. The delay in releasing the roadmap has also led to questions about the protocol’s credibility.

What is Pi Network?

Pi Network is a mobile mining blockchain platform that allows users to earn Pi coins by completing simple tasks on their phones. Currently, the project is still in its development stage, with the open mainnet launch date yet to be confirmed. The protocol remains in its testnet stage, awaiting the completion of mandatory KYC procedures by many users (Pioneers) and the development of its ecosystem by the core team.

Caution Advised for Pi Network Users

Pi Network is reportedly under investigation by authorities in Vietnam. Users are advised to exercise caution when interacting with the project and ensure they conduct thorough research before making any commitments.
